I love the idea, as it could help lend credibility to the group and then in turn help us garner more discounts. But I used to have a USGA membership. It cost me $15 and I got some pins and doodads with it. I looked at the website and it seems they still have that membership. Nevertheless, let's talk about it at the outing next week.

I went to the website, and it seems interesting enough, but can't the members sign up for the USGA on an individual basis and get handicapped? I'm not sure what the benefits of a group membership would be over an independent membership?
